After it was revealed that many cities were reducing the length of time the yellow light was illuminated, the situation was corrected and revenues dried up. See Channel 10 News Report video. Safety claims were debunked and most cameras were removed. As a result, only three red light cameras currently exist in Pinellas County and all of them are in Clearwater.
The Pinellas County Clerk’s Office will not accept payment for red light camera violations. The Clerk of Court only accepts payment of civil penalties when a traffic citation is issued by a police officer. If you receive a red light camera violation in the mail, you should carefully read the instructions for timely handling the matter.
Our office does not represent individuals facing red light camera violations.
