DUI Checkpoint Starts: Friday, December 14th from 10:30 PM
Ends: Saturday, December 15th 4:00 AM
Where: Publix Supermarket, 1700 34th Street North, St. Petersburg
What Do I Look For:
All Southbound traffic on 34th Street North (U.S. Highway 19) will be diverted into the check point.
The St. Petersburg Police Department plans to show off a brand new fully equipped Chevy Tahoe they received from the Florida Department of Transportation and the Florida Public Safety Institute. The vehicle displays large markings on each side that reads:
"Drunk Driving - Over the Limit, Under Arrest."
Multi-Jurisdiction Checkpoint:
The St. Petersburg Police Department will be assisted by the Florida Highway Patrol, The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, Gulport Police Department, Kenneth City Police Department, Pinellas Park Police Department and the Belleair Police Department.
Along with impaired drivers, deputies will be looking for driver license, registration, insurance, and equipment violations.
